The Black I Am Project was created to address obstacles in our society that consistently put us at a disadvantage.
There’s never been a time, even in the past 100 years, when black people weren't disproportionately affected by rising unemployment, disproportionately undereducated and undervalued, disproportionately impacted by crime and violence, disproportionately incarcerated, the list goes on... And that’s not to say the future looks grim. To coin a common phrase, “The future is what you make it". So where will these negative trends lead us another century from now? Is there cause for optimism?
